Before and After School Childcare at School

Many after school programs are run by childcare facilities on campus.  Ask your child’s school about before and after school programs at your child’s school.  Practically every elementary and many middle schools have an on-site after school program. At the on-site after school program, kids have an opportunity to do their homework and play indoor or outdoor games with their friends until their parents pick them up. Camps are often offered on non-school days.

After School Childcare with Transportation

In the San Francisco Bay Area several after school program will offer transportation from your child’s school to their facility.  Chinese language schools, for example will send a van to pick up children from various elementary schools and bring them to their facilities after school.

After School Programs taught at School through Parks and Recreation

Several cities in the Bay Area offer specialty classes after school on-site through their Parks and Recreation Department.  These classes ofter specialize in a sport, music, language, chess, or art.  Often these after school clubs will be for just one or two days a week.
