Youth on Course Junior Golf Programs
NCGA has developed a Youth on Course golf membership program for kids between the age of 6 and 17. The Youth on Course program emphasizes life skills and values. The program features nine core values: integrity, honesty, respect, courtesy, responsibility, sportsmanship, confidence, judgment, and perseverance. The idea is to allow youth to participate in golf affordably through clinics, course play, internships and scholarship. Once certified, participants can play golf for as little as $5 in over 115 Northern California golf courses.
Kids can become Youth on Course members by becoming Life Skills Certified, and obtaining a Youth on Course membership card. There are two ways to become Life Skills Certified. Kids aged 6 to 17 can attend a certified program. Certified programs are offered after school and on weekend during the school year integrating specific golf skills and life skills. As an alternative to one of these programs, kids 10 and older can complete an online curriculum through the ncgafoundation.org, and pay a $12 membership fee.
Once your child becomes a Youth on Course member, they are entitled to all the benefits of a NCGA membership, and can even establish a handicap. Membership will need to be renewed every year.
